As a key member of the Financial Control team, you will dive into the world of technical accounting and practical management reporting, playing a crucial role during the month-end analysis of results.
This position is your chance to shine within the Energy accounting team, where you'll report directly to the Performance Manager – Energy.
Your mission? To ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounts, all while building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Please note: This is a 12-month maximum term contract based out of our Melbourne offices.
What you'll be doing day-to-day Preparation of Month-End Results and Accounting Accruals: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of month-end financial results and accounting accruals.
Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis of results against budget and forecast to identify variances and provide insights.
Monthly Reporting Packs: Assist in the preparation of comprehensive monthly reporting packs for management review.
Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform balance sheet reconciliations and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy.
Process Improvement Initiatives: Actively participate in process improvement initiatives across the group finance team to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Additionally, you will Support Team Members: Provide support to other accounting team members with ad hoc requirements.
Data Analysis: Conduct data analysis to support financial decision-making.
Finance Project Work and Statutory Lodgements: Assist with finance project work and ensure compliance with statutory lodgements.
What you'll bring to this role Accounting Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience in a medium to large-sized business or as a first mover from a Big 4/chartered firm is highly favorable.
A CA or CPA Qualification or close to completion.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and reporting.
Technical Proficiency: Strong MS Excel and analytical skills are crucial for data analysis and financial reporting.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail ensures accuracy and integrity in all financial tasks.
Positive Attitude and Initiative: A positive can-do attitude, high levels of initiative, and an eagerness to learn are key to thriving in this role.
