Find out more about our school by visiting butlerps.wa.edu.au or Schools Online The Role In collaboration with the principal and other members of the administrative team, the Deputy Principal provides educational leadership, modelling the school values, ethos and priorities.
Leading a distributed instructional model, the Deputy Principal works collaboratively with the leadership team to establish the school's strategic direction and, within their scope of responsibility, can translate this into operational priorities and lead staff to achieve identified outcomes.
The Deputy Principal – Curriculum is seen as an active leader within the classroom environment, modelling, observing, and providing instructional feedback to all staff from Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6).
This Deputy Curriculum – Leadership position focuses on supporting and developing staff expertise in the following areas: Observation and Feedback, Instructional teaching practices Data literacy practices through school assessment schedules Research-informed conversation to review and inform school strategic and operational direction.
Development of Distributed Leadership and supported models of support and instruction.
Teaching team collaborative practices, especially through a Team Leader structure Building the capacity of explicit instruction, assessment and review.
Work in collaboration with Student Services Deputy Principals to ensure a wrap-around service to allow students to achieve their potential.
Utilise trauma-informed practices when engaging students.
