Direct message the job poster from TR Plus We are currently partnering with a leading financial business who are seeking a Legal Counsel to join their team to support business financing, small business lending and partnership transactions.
The Opportunity In this role you will report into the Senior Legal Counsel providing hands-on legal advice, drafting and negotiating deal documents, managing legal risks and ensuring compliance.
Your day to day will involve: Providing expert counsel on business banking, corporate finance, trade finance and small business lending transactions.
Structuring, drafting, negotiating and reviewing transaction documents, ensuring they meet the Company's mandate and objectives.
Identifying, assessing and mitigating legal risks; work closely with credit, portfolio management and external advisers to implement risk management strategies.
Developing and maintaining legal templates, guidelines and training materials for transaction teams.
Monitoring changes in banking and finance laws and regulations.
Advising on governance, risk frameworks, policies and procedures related to financing transactions.
Collaborating with the broader legal team to deliver strategic and operational objectives.
Requirements Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in banking and finance law, gained in-house at a large financial institution or within a top/mid-tier law firm.
Solid background in business banking, corporate finance and trade finance, with exposure to risk participation and syndicated lending arrangements.
Proven drafting, negotiation and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
Confidence in communicating complex legal issues to both legal and non-legal stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
