The Hospital Launceston General Hospital is a major referral centre, providing high-quality care to a catchment of over 300,000 people across Northern Tasmania.
With a strong focus on teaching, research, and innovation, Launceston Hospital offers the professional challenge of a tertiary-level environment alongside the support of a close-knit medical community.
The Role As a Consultant Rheumatologist, you will provide comprehensive outpatient services across Northern Tasmania, as well as inpatient consultations where required.
You will also: Lead specialist Rheumatology clinics and coordinate patient care.
Provide expert advice and multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure continuity of care.
Mentor and supervise postgraduate trainees, and contribute to medical student teaching through the University of Tasmania.
Contribute to departmental research, clinical governance, and service development initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity to combine specialist practice with leadership in service design and delivery.
Requirements Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent recognised overseas specialist qualification (UK CCT, Irish CSCST, US ABIM, Canadian RCPSC, NZ Vocational Registration).
Eligible for Specialist Registration with AHPRA.
Demonstrated experience in clinical service delivery, teaching, and research within Rheumatology.
