The Role As the Business Development Manager – WA, you will be at the forefront of establishing AECI's presence in the state.
You will drive the planning and execution of new operational facilities, including a cutting-edge electronic detonator assembly plant and lead strategic business development initiatives.
Your work will directly contribute to the company's long-term growth and success in the region.
Key Responsibilities You will lead the establishment and growth of AECI operations in WA, including operational readiness for a new electronic detonator facility.
You will support feasibility and planning for a Powerboost plant, develop and execute regional business development strategies, and build strong relationships with mining clients, regulators, and government bodies.
The role involves managing cross-functional teams, ensuring new operations meet SHEQ standards, overseeing project budgets, leading tenders and contract negotiations, and tracking key performance metrics.
You will also act as a brand ambassador, promoting AECI's Vision, Mission, and Values in the WA market.
About You You hold a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, Engineering or an MBA, with a minimum of 8 years' experience in commercial or business development roles.
You have proven success in stakeholder engagement, market expansion, and operations within explosives or chemical manufacturing.
You are familiar with WA's mining landscape and regulatory frameworks and experienced in financial modelling and tendering.
You are highly strategic, commercially savvy, and a natural relationship builder with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
A hands-on, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to travel interstate and internationally are essential.
