We're now seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our multi-disciplinary engineering team and drive the successful delivery of technical projects from concept to execution.
This is a pivotal leadership role based in Thornton, NSW, offering a unique opportunity to lead engineering capability across a range of exciting, challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and lead the engineering team, ensuring all projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Accountability for the execution of all engineering works and technical deliverables Develop, implement, and maintain engineering processes, standards, design documentation, procedures, specifications and change management.
Lead the preparation of drawings, sketches, sizing calculations, datasheets, and material take-offs.
Review and approve drawings produced by inhouse and external designers in line with MCA drafting standards.
Coordinate labour and internal resources across engineering projects.
Plan and forecast engineering workload and team capacity.
Identify and communicate change management requirements, statutory updates, or regulatory changes within MCA's OEM fleet.
Lead design risk reviews in conjunction with your team and broader stakeholders.
Review customer-supplied specifications, procedures, and vendor data for accuracy and compliance.
Assist with preparation of quotes, tenders, and technical proposals as required.
Manage engineering-related costs, budgets, and subcontractors.
About You: Degree-qualified in Mechanical, Structural or Civil Engineering Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or RPEQ registration is desirable.
Extensive experience in heavy industrial, mining, or construction engineering.
Proven leadership skills with experience managing engineering teams.
Strong understanding of structural steel, concrete structures, mechanical systems, or related disciplines.
Skilled in reviewing engineering documentation, drawings, and 3 D models (Auto CAD/Inventor preferred) Familiar with Australian Standards and industry codes.
Excellent stakeholder management, team leadership, and communication skills A solutions-driven mindset with strong organisational and commercial awareness MCA Projects Include: Shaft Equipping.
