As Team Leader, Spatial Services you will lead a group of professionals, who are primarily Spatial specialists.
Using your experience and knowledge, you will coordinate and manage a range of projects in relation to spatial systems and spatial data management to deliver superior spatial products, support and services.
Your leadership will ensure state-wide technical support is consistent and of a high standard to protected area and forest management.
This role requires proven technical spatial knowledge and capability in the use of contemporary spatial software, including ESRI Arc GIS Pro, Arc GIS Enterprise Portal, Arc GIS Online, FME and Python scripting.
As The Team Leader, You Will Provide leadership in the use, development, maintenance and continuous improvement of QPWS Spatial processes.
Develop and implement the QPWS Spatial program policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
Manage effective team functioning and contribute to the development of regional strategic and operational plans, prepare submissions, briefs and notes on complex issues and initiatives.
Provide technical advice in relation to Spatial programs including the effective use of Jira and Confluence.
Research and analyse emergent technologies as appropriate for QPWS business.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including QPWS regions, other Departmental divisions, and other government departments relating to Spatial management and provide advice as required.
Prepare a range of reports and briefings regarding the development, progress and delivery of milestones and key projects and ensure the availability and effectiveness of Spatial programs.
Manage the development and implementation of performance monitoring and key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of Spatial programs across QPWS.
Consult widely through the Division, Department and other state agency channels to ensure the Division's information systems standards keep abreast of developments relating to information, procedures, and the spatial management requirements for the range of internal and external users.
Assist with the implementation of organisational spatial initiatives ensuring information and data is accurate, consistent and up-to-date, and participate in development and training programs for Divisional spatial data, systems and products.
Supervise a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, provide advice on and continuously improve systems, strategies, plans, designs, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines for QPWS Spatial programs.
Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations peoples of Australia.
Applications will remain current for 12 months.
