Practice information K&L Gates' core Asset Management and Investment Funds practice area includes one of the largest and most experienced Investment Funds practices globally.
In Australia, our practice involves advising on, structuring and establishing a wide variety of investment structures targeted at Australian and international investors, including early-stage venture capital limited partnerships, unit trusts / managed investment trusts, exchange traded funds, stapled entities and offshore structures.
We advise on real estate, credit, venture capital, private equity and equities funds that are offered to retail and wholesale investors.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Sydney Investment Funds practice and further develop your legal and commercial skills.
What does the role involve? We can offer you the opportunity to join a high performing team which often works on matters with an international element.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to fulfil this position on a full-time basis.On a day to day basis you will have the chance to: Work in a team-based environment, working collaboratively, with partners and other senior lawyers on technically challenging matters Prepare investment fund formation documentation including trust deeds, limited partnership deeds, management agreements, information memoranda and product disclosure statements Prepare transaction documents for transactions involving funds Prepare advice on corporate and financial services laws applicable to investment managers Assist global investment managers operating in the Australian market Obtain offshore advice from other K&L Gates offices for Australian investment management clients with overseas operations, including in the US, UK, Europe, HK and Singapore Liaise with regulators and industry bodies About you We value our culture at K&L Gates and are proud of our friendly and respectful reputation.
We are looking for a likeminded individual who in addition to possessing technical excellence is able to work collaboratively in a team to get things done.We are looking for a lawyer with 2-5 years' experience in investment funds and/or financial services regulation but will consider junior lawyers with an interest in funds related work.
You should be practical and proactive in your approach in addition to demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and work well in a team.
A high level of client service is expected as are excellent organisation, written and oral communication skills.
