The Head of Operations is part of the Oceania Leadership Team.
This role's remit is to effectively manage the business unit, providing full leadership and operational accountability for the unit performance and P&L achievement.
Further accountability would consist of all unit compliance requirements surrounding Health & Safety, Security and Customs responsibilities as well as people development.
Manage and develop the Customer relationship and embracing strategic partnership principles.
This role is also responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Oceania operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity and compliance with regulations by developing strategic operational plans, managing budgets, leading teams and collaborating with other functions to align with company goals.
Your key areas of responsibility Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize business processes and achieve organizational objectives.
Oversee operational budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Lead and manage direct reports.
Analyse existing operational processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to increase efficiency.
Track key operational metrics and KPIs to identify areas of concern and implement corrective actions.
Identify potential operational risks, develop mitigation strategies, and address issues proactively.
Analyse and resolve operational challenges and complex issues that arise within the business.
Champion safety across the region.
Takes full ownership to lead compliance adherence across the region to ensure all regulatory, customer and internal policies and procedures.
Continually develop and improve the skills of the employees by working with HR, Learning & Development and by mentoring and coaching your management team.
About you Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, build consensus, and create a positive work environment.
Strong analytical skills to identify trends, interpret data, and make informed decisions.
Deep understanding of business operations.
Proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to completion.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to diverse stakeholders.
Understanding of financial principles and ability to analyse financial data to make informed decisions.
Previous experience at a senior leadership level managing a busy multi-state operation.
Proven track record of managing a P&L/budget successfully year on year.
Demonstrable evidence of understanding and implementing continuous improvement activities.
Strong commercial awareness and customer focused.
Experience working within a unionised environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with multiple departments and customers.
Bachelors' degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
