Nature's Best, a premium manufacturer of stockfeed, specialty pet foods and dog biscuits are seeking an experienced, self-motivated, highly organised Manufacturing Manager to control all aspects of production and maintenance.
This is a full-time role and offers a long term, stable career opportunity for the successful candidate who will be enthusiastic not only about meeting all production objectives, but also about contributing to the overall development and ongoing growth of our expanding business.
You will lead a team of circa 18 staff via 2 direct reports (production supervisors) operating across two shifts Monday-Friday.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, your responsibilities will include: Lead and manage day to day manufacturing operations.
Ensuring the efficient, safe and profitable running of all aspects of production, including machinery and maintenance schedules, whilst optimising throughput and productivity and meeting high quality standards Planning, organising, controlling and actively engaging in production to ensure that goods are produced efficiently, on time and to standard Work with key staff to develop robust maintenance programs Managing and controlling operational costs, usage and waste Maintaining a workplace that is organised and compliant with health and safety standards Implementing and maintaining all relevant and regulatory workplace health and safety practices, procedures and assessments Managing staff including training, supervision, performance and development.
Being a key identifier of issues that affect our business whilst continually driving improvements that deliver benefits to our customers and to our profitability As an ideal candidate you will have: Minimum 5 years manufacturing management experience (experience in HACCP/food handling systems is desirable).
Highly developed organisational and problem-solving skills Proven track record in managing a full range of production processes, staff, machinery and equipment in a manufacturing plant Very strong mechanical/engineering skills Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage a varied workload Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to solve problems and reorganise work plans to manage conflicting priorities An excellent understanding and practical implementation of workplace health and safety principles and practices A competitive remuneration package, commensurate with the level of skills and experience is on offer for the right person.
