About the Role : Join our team as a Patient Services Assistant on a part time ongoing basis to work at Victorian Heart Hospital, Clayton.
Patient Services Assistants at Monash Health, have responsibility to support the Nursing and Medical team in the delivery of patient care.
This incorporates cleaning and patient meal services, patient transfer between wards, mortuary transfers and can involve patient lifting & turning inpatient bed areas under the direction of Nursing / Midwifery employees.
The roles will provide a high quality, customer focused service to internal and external customers.
Efficient communication and timely responses to requests for service are paramount for this position in achieving sustainable service delivery.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working within a committed team who strive to consistently deliver high quality and efficient cleaning services and patient care.
You will be rostered to work the following shifts each week subject to the position that is applied for : Position 1 : Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday - 8.00 - 16.3048 hours per fortnight)Position 2 : Monday to Friday 7.00 - 14.3070 hours per fortnight)Position 3 : Monday & Wednesday 14.00 - 21.3028 hours per fortnight)Position 4 : Week 1 : Wednesday & Thursday / Week 2 : Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday 22.30 - 7.0048 hours per fortnight)Position 5 : Monday 10.00 - 18.3016 hours per fortnight)Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to : Ward and department cleaning Patient transfers Bed making Use of lifting equipment, bed mover and wheelchairs Assisting nursing staff as requested Transfer and cleaning of ward equipment Ward errands About Us : Support Services is responsible for non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
About You : To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge : Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)Previous experience as a Patient Services Assistant (Desirable)Excellent verbal and written communication skills A commitment to delivering excellent customer service Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team Basic to intermediate computer / digital skills for our digital learning system In Return , Uniform and Laundry Allowance Supportive working environment Providing an important service to our patients For a confidential discussion and to explore the opportunity further, please call Paul on 0455 960 282.
