Join Luma's team and provide specialist care and support to women experiencing mental health challenges during the perinatal period (from pregnancy to one year postpartum), ensuring safe, compassionate, and holistic maternity care.

This is a part-time role (0.4 FTE) working from our Northbridge office, with travel to Joondalup and other site offices as required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Early Identification of Mental Health Needs: Screen and assess women during the antenatal and postpartum period.
  • Individualised Care Planning: Develop and coordinate personalised care plans for women effected by trauma and mental health during the perinatal period.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with Multidisciplinary teams, including admitting hospitals and the wider clinic team, to ensure holistic care and support.
  • Crisis Intervention: Recognising and responding to perinatal distress and urgent mental health issues, ensuring appropriate care, referral and safety measures.
  • Continuity of Support: Provide ongoing care and monitoring throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period, ensuring smooth transitions between services.

About you:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of common perinatal mental health conditions
  • Experience in developing and implementing integrated care plans.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to culturally responsive practice, particularly in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and other marginalised communities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to provide woman-centred care and engage significant others in emotional wellbeing discussions.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to engage sensitively with clients, families and colleagues.
  • Maintain clear professional boundaries and hold a high standard of professional conduct, confidentiality and ethical practice.

Desirable:

  • Endorsement with AHPRA
  • 2 years or more experience in Perinatal Mental Health settings, especially in trauma informed care.
