Work as part of an ambitious, smart and passionate team and belong to something meaningful as part of the Woolworths Group.What you'll doAs a Cloud Operations Engineer, you'll play a hands-on role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-native applications and infrastructure.
You'll work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to automate infrastructure, improve system performance, and support our Dev Ops and Cloud Ops practices.
This is a growth-focused position where you'll contribute, learn, and help drive operational excellence.Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and reliable application infrastructure in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Build and manage Kubernetes clusters and related infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Helm, and Argo CDWrite maintainable, production-grade code in a modern programming language (such as Golang, Type Script, or Kotlin)Apply Cloud Ops and SRE fundamentals, including SLAs, SLOs, SLIs, toil reduction, golden signals, and progressive delivery, to real-world systemsTroubleshoot and resolve networking issues in distributed systems, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and HTTP/S protocolsPerform Linux system administration, including performance analysis, troubleshooting, and automation with shell toolsCollaborate with development, operations, and product teams to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions.What you'll bringYou are a collaborative team player, eager to learn, and proactive in seeking solutions and familiar with agile methodologies.
You will also:Strong foundation in software engineering, with experience writing maintainable, production-grade code in at least one modern language (ideally Golang, Type Script, or Kotlin)Comfortable working in Linux-based environmentsHands-on experience with GCP, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Helm, and Argo CDUnderstanding of core Cloud Ops/SRE concepts, such as SLAs, SLOs, SLIs, toil reduction, and golden signals, and experience applying them in real-world systemsSolid grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, HTTP/S) and adept at troubleshooting distributed systemsCollaborative team player, eager to learn, and proactive in seeking solutions.What you'll experienceA global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.Access to Sonder.
