We are looking for an Application Development Manager to support one of our valued clients on various application initiatives.
What You'll Do Provide technical leadership on application development and maintenance activities seeking to pursue evolving industry practice Define and drive the strategic direction of the organisation's application stack, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and reliable application solutions and integrations that meet business requirements and adhere to SDLC standards.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, gather and document technical requirements, and priorities, and translate them into solutions.
Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to inform decisions and drive innovation within the organisation.
Together with vendors, develop and maintain standards, principles, guidelines, and best practices for application development and integration.
Maintain and enhance current Dev Ops practice with agile development and low- and no-code platforms Collaborate with other IT teams to implement new application systems Ensure application security best practices and compliance with regulatory requirements Maintain comprehensive documentation for all delivered solutions Mentor and coach IT teams on architectural concepts, design principles, and best practices, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
What You'll Know Comprehensive understanding of software development principles and best practices.
Experience with microservices architecture and API management Proficiency in application design and development technologies, frameworks, and platforms.
In-depth knowledge of enterprise application integration (EAI) and service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles and practices.
Familiarity with cloud computing architectures, including Infrastructure as a Service (Iaa S), Platform as a Service (Paa S), and Software as a Service (Saa S).
Understanding of security principles and best practices in application design.
Knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and Dev Ops – including CI / CD pipelines Familiarity with emerging technologies and industry trends in application development and architecture.
Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements relevant to application development and architecture What Experience You'll Bring5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on application architecture and design.
Experience leading the design and development of complex enterprise applications and systems.
Hands-on experience with a variety of programming languages, frameworks, and technologies relevant to application development (e.g., Java,.
NET, Python, Node.js, React).
Experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, and reliable application solutions in on-premises and cloud environments.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to deliver successful architectural solutions.
Experience mentoring and coaching team members on architectural concepts, design principles, and best practices.
Experience managing technical debt and driving modernisation initiatives You'll be expected to be available to work in a hybrid capacity and be available to work 3 days per week from their South Eastern Suburb office.
