By focusing on our five principles and not getting caught up in red tape, we trust you to get the job doneAbout the role As a Lead Data Engineer you will: Lead project teams (varying in size, complexity and makeup of the team) and project outcomes, and at times in collaborationwith other Leads / Principals Establish an architecture for technical delivery, defining how this will be executed within the project and work with broader team and stakeholders Solve complex data engineering challenges to help our clients advance their data and analytics solution Design and implement greenfield solutions, as well as recommending and implementing changes to existing solutions Show outstanding consulting and technical skills across a variety of modern data tools (such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake etc.)Have a deep understanding of the project scope and commercials Ensure quality of work is maintained through mentoring and up-skilling of others Support pre-sales activities e.g.
creating proposals/So Ws and facilitating walk-throughs with clients Build trusted relationships with clients and partners (e.g.
SME's within partners such as AWS, Google, Databricks, Snowflake)Establish your reputation and influence as a data engineering expert within Mantel Group and the broader community We want to hear from you if you have: Strong consulting experience, either with external clients or internally within an organisation Commercial data experience across different industries and domains Ability to engage with senior level stakeholders and having a broad influence in the internal and client's teams Experience in establishing technical architecture and leading the delivery of technical projects and project teams Prior experience leading greenfield projects and maintaining high-quality work throughout all project phases Technical brilliance across a broad range of cloud-native services Experience in building and managing data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts with tools such as Snowflake, Databricks Experience with CI/CD practices & tools - Git Hub Actions, Gitlab, Build Kite, etc.
Expertise in data modeling and schema design for high-performance analytics Knowledge of data security best practices and data quality frameworks, ensuring data integrity and consistency The ability to explain technical concepts regardless of the audience We value diverse skill-sets, and we'd love to hear from you even if you don't meet all of the above.
