Discover it for yourself: Position The Senior Production Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the material, people, and equipment required to build a new product are set up in Salesforce, tracked in Celoxis, and organized on the production line.
You will also influence the project direction to ensure scalability is considered from the start.
This role involves working closely with the project manager, purchasing, production engineers, R&D, and the production manager.
It is well-suited for a technically-minded individual with high attention to detail and the ability to influence others to meet the business's commercial needs.
What you'll do Perform electronics diagnostics and repairs on production electronic components and subassemblies, or provide instructions to technicians for repairs.
Conduct root cause analysis on failed materials at incoming goods, production failures, and customer returns to determine repairs or corrective actions to minimize scrap and improve quality.
Support the production team by providing technical expertise to minimize stoppages and meet targets through daily updates and formal training sessions.
Verify the suitability of production jigs and equipment before use.
Inspect the first production batch of new or modified components or assemblies.
Implement and train staff on new products entering production.
Assess new products for manufacturability and recommend design changes, production processes, suppliers, and equipment to R&D for scaled manufacturing.
Research manufacturing processes and evaluate their potential to meet production goals; engage with suppliers and build collaborative relationships.
Drive continuous improvement and manage change within the production team by troubleshooting systemic issues and advising on process improvements with R&D.
Qualifications, skills & experience Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Systems, with 4+ years of experience in a similar role and industry.
Established professional relationships with relevant suppliers such as PCBA, BON, and Test Fixture providers.
Experience in assembling and fabricating advanced electronic products.
Ability to operate and learn to operate equipment from suppliers related to Level Tables, Dispensing, PCBA, and Motion Simulators.
Quick learner capable of developing deep technical skills in challenging domains.
Experience in measuring and reporting production metrics.
Basic knowledge of software (Java, C, C++), electronics, and mechanical design processes.
Strong problem-solving, fault-finding, and debugging skills.
Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
Highly motivated with an energetic, responsive, and decisive attitude.
Knowledge of WHS practices.
