About the position As the Manager, you will provide intellectual and operational leadership across NCVER's Technology and Cyber Security Branch, which oversees: National VET data systems and infrastructure Cyber security strategy and operations Delivery of all internal IT services You'll be responsible for ensuring NCVER's IT platform is secure, compliant, and future-ready—developing and implementing robust strategies, frameworks, and policies to meet legal and regulatory obligations.
In this role, you will lead the development and execution of NCVER's strategic IT roadmap, driving innovation across technologies, systems, and business applications.
You'll oversee cyber security strategy, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to ensure a secure and compliant digital environment.
As a key contributor to executive decision-making, you'll provide expert policy advice while managing IT project governance and portfolio processes.
Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous improvement, customer service excellence, and strong collaboration—building trusted relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders.
This role also plays a critical part in the VET Data Streamlining (VDS) program, collaborating with senior leaders to manage the transition to a new technology and data environment.
You'll lead change across systems, business processes, and staffing, ensuring alignment with NCVER's strategic goals.
About you Significant knowledge and experience providing information technology services across an organisation and implementing cyber security practices Experience leading, coaching and mentoring staff.
Experience in managing projects to completion within agreed scope, budget and success criteria.
Experience in data collection and information delivery through business intelligence and managing an operational environment.
Knowledge of current issues and policies in the Australian vocational education and training system Relevant qualifications in information technology, cyber security or related discipline.
