Principal Capability Development Officer

Support Queensland's growing manufacturing industry through capability development, workforce planning and stakeholder engagement in the Sunshine Coast region.
You'll work closely with regional manufacturers, government, training providers and industry groups to identify needs, shape programs, and drive strategic collaboration.
Manufacturing is the fifth generator of wealth for the state of Queensland and has a broad reach across the state through our rural and regional development teams.
The Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development (MRRD) division drives rural and regional investment, social and economic development, growth, jobs and liveability in Queensland communities MRRD #delivering4qldWe're looking for a motivated Principal Capability Development Officer to join the Sunshine Coast Manufacturing Hub.
Based in Maroochydore, you'll play a key role in fostering growth and innovation in one of Queensland's most important economic sectors.
As a member of the Manufacturing South team, you'll build strong partnerships with local manufacturers, training organisations, economic development agencies and government.
You'll identify workforce challenges, match businesses with support, and fast-track capability-building initiatives that address real needs and support the delivery of key projects and programs under the Manufacturing Hub Delivery Model.
This includes helping industry access training pathways, skills development funding and other support initiatives - whether state or federally driven.
You'll contribute to regional strategies that strengthen the manufacturing ecosystem and ensure sustainability and long-term growth.
We're looking for a strong communicator with excellent engagement and interpersonal skills, backed by analytical thinking and sound problem-solving ability.
You'll bring experience managing multiple projects or workstreams and thrive in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
A background in manufacturing, particularly with insight into workforce development or training pathways, will be highly regarded.
