International Medical Graduates (IMGs) are also eligible to apply.
CCLHD is part of Network B, which offers comprehensive training, including adult psychiatry in hospital and community settings, Consultation Liaison psychiatry, Child and Adolescent psychiatry, Old Age psychiatry, Addiction, Rehabilitation, Psychotherapy, Mood Disorders, Eating Disorders, and Aboriginal services.
A Site Co-ordinator of Training oversees a well-developed teaching program, supporting IMGs, with an active examination preparation program.
Trainees attend formal education courses in Sydney or Newcastle based on preference.
Gosford Hospital is the principal referral hospital for the Central Coast, with over 500 inpatient beds and 24 / 7 emergency services.
Recent $368 million redevelopment includes a new emergency department, ICU, nuclear medicine, and expanded imaging services.
Wyong Hospital is a major metropolitan hospital with over 300 beds, offering inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services.
A recent $200 million expansion includes a new emergency department, ICU, paediatric unit, inpatient wards, theatres, and imaging services.
In partnership with the University of Newcastle, the Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute offer additional training and research opportunities.

MBBS or equivalent, registered or eligible with the Medical Board of Australia.
Australian & NZ Graduates / Competent Authority Pathway : 2+ postgraduate years as a medical officer in an acute hospital; recent clinical practice preferred.
Standard Pathway : 2+ postgraduate years, with at least 12 months in an Australian hospital, including 6 months in Psychiatry.
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, providing leadership and ensuring appropriate patient management.
Ability to work independently, demonstrating excellent clinical skills, judgment, commitment to quality, safety, and risk management.
Good time management and problem-solving skills, with ongoing professional development.
Current Australian Driver's Licence.
Understanding of how the District cares for the Coast and how this role contributes.
