About The RoleAre you a skilled Gas Engineer looking to make a difference in your community? Join Live West, the largest housing association in the South West, and help us provide high-quality homes and services to our customers.We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Gas Engineer to join our Property Services team, with a primary focus on the full-time installation of boilers, radiators and central heating systems.As a Gas Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our properties, ensuring they meet our high standards and customer expectations.This role is a mobile role, working predominately in the Penzance area.
You will ideally be based within a 30 minute commute of this patch.Key Responsibilities:- Installation Work (Primary Focus): Carry out full installations of domestic boilers, radiators, and central heating systems to a high standard, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety requirements.- Fault Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose and repair domestic heating systems, including fault-finding, installation, and annual servicing.- Quality Workmanship: Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard, complying with building regulations and safety requirements.- Customer Service: Demonstrate a positive and professional approach to our customers, ensuring the highest standard of customer service and satisfaction.- Maintenance and Testing: Perform periodic testing and installation work, ensuring compliance with current best practices and guidelines.- Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.- On-Call Participation: Take part in an out-of-hours on-call structure and attend meetings and training as required.Why Join Live West:At Live West, we believe in creating a supportive and inclusive work environment where our colleagues can thrive.

Appointment to this role is subject to a satisfactory basic DBS check.About The CandidateTo be successful in your application for the role of Gas Engineer, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level one role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:- Post-Qualification Experience: Proven experience in the gas industry, with a strong understanding of responsive maintenance.- Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing boiler faults, performing annual servicing, and carrying out installation work.- Customer Focus: Experience working in customers' homes, demonstrating a professional and positive approach.- Health and Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.- IT Skills: Proficient in the use and application of mobile technology.- Driving Licence: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with LPG and Oil systems is desirable.Qualifications Required:- CCN1 (Domestic Core Element).- CENWAT1 (Domestic Gas Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters).- Desirable: CKR1 (Cookers) - Required to complete within a reasonable timeframe after successfully passing the probation period.- Desirable: HTR1 (Heaters) - Required to complete within a reasonable timeframe after successfully passing the probation period.- Desirable: LPG (Bottled Gas)- Desirable: Part L (Energy Efficiency Qualification)- Desirable: Part G (Hot Water Safety and Efficiency)- Desirable: Water Regs WRAS- Desirable: Unvented Hot Water- Desirable: OFTEC (Oil Qualification)- Desirable: OFTEC or equivalent (Solid Fuel Qualification)Please note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
