
Principal Planner

This role will contribute to Stantec business goals by providing professional planning and resource management advice in both statutory and strategic planning.
Responsibilities Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis and report writing and a comprehensive knowledge of NSW urban planning and environmental legislation.
Act as project manager with planning, programming and coordination of projects to ensure that project outputs meet or exceed agreed goals.
Develop project plans and strategies for the completion of major projects including identification of business resource requirements.
Manage or assist with the preparation of strategies, reports, environmental impact assessments and other planning documentation and submissions on behalf of clients.
Undertake technical and quality reviews of documentation prepared by the planning team to ensure that documentation and service levels meet or exceed client's expectations.
Lead and assist with the preparation of tender documentation.
Foster client relationships and identify business opportunities.
Grow, develop and mentor junior staff.
Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or Architecture/Urban Design or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Proficiency in urban planning research, data analysis and report writing Extensive experience in statutory or strategic planning, preferably within NSW.
Self-motivated and self-directed Interest in working on a broad variety of projects Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers and clients.
Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development.
Drive and passion to solve problems and produce innovative solutions.
