Job Summary This role offers an opportunity to be part of Equinix's growth in Asia Pacific.
We are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager for our APAC team based in Sydney, reporting to the Senior Director, Commercial Management, Asia-Pacific.
The focus is on commercial management of major expansion construction projects across Asia-Pacific, working closely with internal project teams.
The role involves supporting strategic and operational priorities, including reducing construction costs, ensuring financial controls, managing contractual risks, and reporting to senior management.
Responsibilities Prepare budgets with detailed cost modeling, analysis, and presentation to management Monitor project adherence to budgets, including cost reviews and value engineering Guide procurement processes for design services, equipment, and contractor agreements Manage commercial change processes and evaluate changes Handle contractual claims and disputes Review project cash flow analytics and earned value analysis Oversee project financial close-out and vendor settlements Lead risk management efforts, including audits and contingency analysis Review and discuss project cost reports with senior management Ensure compliance with expenditure limits Report on project status, challenges, and successes Develop and track key commercial metrics Drive continuous improvement and best practices Train teams on commercial controls and practices Qualifications Bachelor's degree in construction, business, finance, or related field7+ years of relevant experience Experience with MEP or data centers is advantageous RICS accreditation preferred Detail-oriented with strong proofreading skills Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Strong business acumen and communication skills Proficiency in Excel and computer skills Experience in construction as a client, developer, or consultant is preferred Experience in mission-critical/data centers and negotiation skills are advantageous Equinix is committed to an inclusive employment process.
