Discover it for yourself: The role Our hardware engineering team is focused on simulating, designing, and developing electronic circuits for advanced navigation technologies utilizing analogue, digital, RF, and optoelectrical circuit design.
This role contributes throughout the entire design phase from prototype to development, and through manufacturing, for complex multidisciplinary products.
You will join a diverse team of skilled electronic, mechatronic, and photonics engineers to develop high-performance mixed signal hardware for our portfolio of products.
What you'll do Design analogue signal chain processing circuits (filters, amplifiers, etc.), digital signal circuits including high-speed interfaces Develop mixed signal processing chains (i.e., A-D and D-A)Create PCB schematic designs and layouts using Altium Designer Simulate and optimize circuits in LTSpice Collaborate with embedded software team to ensure hardware designs meet software requirements Identify a clear scope of work, and communicate progress through consistent updates to leadership and team members while working to find and mitigate risks Design and modify basic 3 D CAD models for fit, function, and manufacturability Document your design work, including specifications, compliance matrices, design calculations, analysis reports, drawings, test plans, test reports, and BOMs Lead design reviews, test readiness reviews, and production readiness reviews Document all engineering designs, tests, and investigations (Confluence) to a high standard as part of peer review Peer review others' work to ensure cross-checking and documentation Design for Manufacturing and Assembly using sound engineering methodologies Work with manufacturing and support teams to deliver and maintain hardware equipment and systems Develop assembly, repair, and test techniques, sourcing alternatives to obsolete parts and materials, and testing as per engineering specifications Qualifications, skills, and experience Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical/electronic engineering and/or mechatronics Significant experience designing and developing complex electronics, especially in precision analogue data acquisition, processing, and high-speed digital circuits Proficient in industry-standard tools such as SPICE and Altium Designer Experience releasing multiple high-volume products to market Ability to translate high-level discussions into detailed work plans and report progress effectively Proficient in industry-standard design engineering principles and practices Proactive self-starter with initiative, responsibility, and ownership of work Highly motivated with an energetic, responsive, and decisive disposition Strong knowledge of WHS practices High attention to detail, excellent time management, and follow-through Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with STM32 microcontrollers and/or Xilinx SOC/FPGA and/or Microsemi FPGA products is desirable
