About The Role The Market Management group is seeking a Senior Regulatory Analyst to join the Prudential's team.
The team's primary functions are to ensure market participants adhere to the National Electricity Rules and National Gas Rules (Rules), monitor prudential positions of all market participants in all markets and to ensure the timely settlement of each of the markets in line with the relevant Rules.
What You Will Be Doing The Senior Regulatory Analyst role sits within the Prudentials team with primary accountabilities that include: Ability to independently work on default and suspension events under the Rules Assisting in the development of internal guidance and procedures to support best practice operations Risk report and regulatory report writing Investigating potential non-compliance under the National Gas Rules and National Electricity Rules Capability to represent/present AEMO positions at industry forums.
Ensuring internal operational processes are aligned and executed in accordance with market rules and daily/weekly/monthly production cycles.
Contributing to the delivery of industry reform projects through interpretation of market rules.
Communication and connection are key, as you will be collaborating with a range of internal stakeholders and also a key contact point for industry participants regarding prudentials and rule-based queries What You Will Bring To The Role Mandatory minimum degree qualification in relevant discipline.
Strong related work experience in the Energy industry with consideration given to relevant (Market/Regulatory/Legal) experience in related industries such as utilities.
Strong written interpretation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to draw and articulate conclusions from a range of data and rule inputs.
Experience operating in a legal, compliance and rules-based setting.
Sound understanding of energy market structure, NEM, WEM, or gas markets with knowledge of settlement or prudentials processes an advantage.
You will be a confident communicator and a proactive learner who has a commitment to operational excellence and a passion for collaborative problem solving and contributing to a supportive and high performing team.
