The Agency Executive Director is the senior operating manager of the OIGAC, responsible for the general operations of the agency.
The OIGAC consists of the following collaborative teams: Reviews and Reporting for Impact: two teams responsible for review reports under the agency's enabling legislation, including implementation of Royal Commission recommendations.
Monitoring and Strategic Operations: responsible for reporting, monitoring, and agency strategy.
Communications and Engagement: responsible for strategic communications and stakeholder engagement.
Corporate Services: responsible for delivery of enabling services including finance, HR, shared service arrangements, and governance.
The role The Agency Executive Director is a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting to the Inspector-General.
Provides strategic direction and oversight across corporate functions, communications and engagement, monitoring, complaints-oversight, and strategic projects.
Provides strategic support to reporting teams.
Ensures the agency meets statutory obligations, operates with integrity and transparency, and is positioned for sustainability.
Acts as the most senior support to the Inspector-General, with a trusted relationship vital to the role.
Responsibilities Executive leadership: Contributing to overall leadership, providing trusted support to the Inspector-General, and operating as a key member of the executive team.
Strategic planning: Developing and implementing the agency's strategic framework, delivering on strategic priorities, and aligning infrastructure, systems, and people to deliver outcomes.
Governance and operations: Managing effective operations across HR, finance, ICT, governance, compliance, and risk.
Ensuring regulatory requirements and operational risk management.
Workforce management: Leading, mentoring, and managing performance of a capable workforce with commitment to continuous improvement.
Cultural safety: Setting the standard for diversity and inclusion, ensuring a culturally and psychologically safe workplace.

Experienced in: Leading organisational transformation through strategy and planning.
Analytical and problem-solving capability in policy, monitoring, and operations (ideally in aged care or related sectors).
Leading multi-disciplinary high performing teams.
Knowledge of best practice in finance, people management, governance, ICT, and risk.
Building and maintaining partnerships through complex and sensitive issues.
Researching and critically analysing complex information to provide high-level written and verbal advice, reports, and recommendations.
Highly desirable: Relevant tertiary qualifications (management, business, commerce or similar).
Understanding of or willingness to acquire knowledge of Commonwealth aged care system.
Integrity and Work Health and Safety Must comply with the Public Service Act 1999 and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
SES leaders must demonstrate APS Values, Employment Principles, and APS Code of Conduct.
Leaders must disclose conflicts of interest.
SES leaders act as Officers under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and must ensure OIGAC compliance with WHS duties and obligations.
