About the role The Women's provides an adolescent gynaecology service.
Sitting within the Gynaecology 2 Unit, this service provides care for both new patients during their teenage years and a continuation of care for patients transitioning from paediatric gynaecology care provided elsewhere through adolescence to adulthood.
The Gynaecology 2 Unit at the RWH is looking for a specialist with formal training in adolescent gynaecology and ongoing clinical service experience.
In addition, some laparoscopic surgical skills are required.
The role will involve outpatient clinics (2 sessions per 4 weeks) and theatre (1 list per 4 weeks).
The successful candidate will be working together with one other adolescent gynaecologist already providing service.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in Gynaecology 2 Unit team meetings, audits, research and gynaecology service Morbidity & Mortality meetings.
RWH is a tertiary teaching hospital and the role comprises structured and non-structured teaching, training and supervision of medical students and junior doctors.
About you Experience/Qualifications/Competencies Must hold or be eligible for registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia Attained Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists Undertaken formal adolescent gynaecology training Highly developed verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability in management and navigation of stakeholder involvement in public sector institutions Knowledge of women's health issues in relation to the target population of RWH Attributes Embodies the Women's values of courage, passion, discovery and respect "Can do" and flexible approach Well-developed interpersonal skills Demonstrate empathy and compassion with patients Ability to engage with and learn to lead within a tight-knit unit providing expertise in multiple areas of adolescent patient care Balancing competing and conflicting priorities Time management and prioritising At the Women's you will enjoy a culture that is collaborative, supportive and passionate about learning.
