As a member of our team, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality medical and psychosocial care to children, adolescents, and their families.

About the Position:

This part-time opportunity involves working 14 hours per fortnight within the Department of Adolescent Medicine Gender Service. Your key responsibilities will include:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding patient care.
  • Participate in comprehensive assessments and develop tailored care plans for patients with gender dysphoria or related concerns.
  • Maintain open communication with parents/carers regarding treatment options and plans.
  • Ensure accurate patient records, documenting clinical decisions, diagnosis, treatment plans, complications, co-morbidities, procedures performed, and reports.
  • Compile medical reports summarising assessment findings and recommending treatment approaches.
  • Deliver educational sessions to healthcare professionals supporting children and adolescents with gender dysphoria or related issues within the hospital and community settings.
  • Contribute to quality improvement projects, research initiatives, and service enhancements involving the Gender Service.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA.
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • Fellowship qualifications with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.
  • Desirable: Specialised knowledge, training, and experience in working with trans children and adolescents.
