The role: MSI Asia Pacific (MSIAP) is one of three global support offices providing shared services to MSI's country programs.
We support advocacy, income generation, and project delivery across the Asia and Pacific region, under the direction of the MSIAP Board and MSI's global office.
Our projects are funded by DFAT, MFAT, foundations, and private donors.
The Project Grant Officer supports all stages of the project cycle, from design to close-out, ensuring compliance, tracking performance and budgets, and contributing to learning and improvement.
Working with the MEL Advisor, finance, and regional teams, this role helps deliver high-quality, cost-effective programming that demonstrates impact across the region.
Key responsibilities: Provide oversight and support across all stages of the project cycle, from design and inception to implementation and close-out.
Manage donor contracts and amendments, coordinate internal contracting processes, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
Monitor project performance and expenditure against budgets and forecasts, support evaluations, and help country programs embed key learnings for continuous improvement.
Lead the preparation of high-quality donor narrative and financial reports, ensuring strong analysis of results and timely submission to internal and donor deadlines.
Support project evaluation activities and promote continuous improvement through learning and reflection.
Provide technical guidance on donor compliance to internal teams and downstream partners, ensuring understanding and adherence.
Support the assessment of partner capacity, manage action plans, and contribute to capacity strengthening in collaboration with internal teams.
Promote gender, inclusion, and safeguarding throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring best-practice approaches are applied.
Essential Attributes, Skills, Knowledge and Experience Unequivocally pro-choice Ability to travel internationally, 2-3 times a year for 1-2 weeks at a time.2+ years working in international development, ideally in the Asia and Pacific region2+ years supporting projects funded by key donors in the Asia and Pacific region Relevant degree or equivalent relevant professional experience Cultural competence and effective communication Grant and budget management Report writing and editing (narrative, financial and results frameworks)Working collaboratively and influencing others Analysing qualitative and quantitative data Using Office 365 suite, including Co Pilot Strong understanding of DFAT policies, procedures, and donor compliance and reporting requirements Knowledge of sexual and reproductive health Familiarity with the social, cultural, and development contexts of the Asia and Pacific region Desireable Experience Experience of working with or for managing contractors Experience of working with partner organizations Experience of working in low-income countries Experience of going through DFAT-accreditation MSIAPis a child-safe organisation and has zero tolerance for sexual exploitation abuse and harassment.
