We are now seeking a Financial Controller to lead our finance function in Australia, support our growth, and play a key role in our leadership team.
About the role You will report to the Australian General Manager and work closely with the Group Financial Controller (NZ-based), taking full ownership of our finance operations in Australia.
This is a hands-on leadership role involving daily finance activities, team development, senior leadership collaboration, and strategic input.
A focus on continuous improvement, especially in reporting and systems, will be essential for your success.
As our business grows, agility, quick thinking, and commercial acumen will be crucial to adapt and move forward.
We seek someone who combines financial expertise with a passion for team leadership.
Our team includes Credit, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Financial Accounting, all of which will look to you for guidance, leadership, and technical skills.
Key responsibilities Lead and mentor the Finance Team to foster a high-performing, positive environment Partner with senior managers to drive decision-making Manage month-end close, reporting, journals, and reconciliations Oversee tax compliance including BAS, FBT, and annual returns Support and oversee audits and statutory financial statements Provide insights through budgeting, forecasting, and modeling Manage fleet security, including insurances and securities Support Credit and Accounts Payable teams as needed Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives What you'll bring CPA or CA qualification Proven experience in finance leadership or management roles Strong technical accounting and reporting skills Commercial acumen with the ability to translate numbers into action Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Proactive, organized, solutions-focused attitude Passion for leading and developing people Why join us?At TR Group, we value our people and culture.
