About the Position

This position involves providing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) support for the Western Australia projects. It presents a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a prominent rail infrastructure project as part of a global team.

The primary objective is to aid the HSE team in cultivating positive attitudes and behaviors that promote a safety-oriented culture, ensuring continuous enhancement and sound corporate governance.

The secondary goal is to assist the leadership team by offering expert advice, support, and coordination to uphold compliance with Workplace Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) regulations and GBMS requirements.

Accountabilities:

  • Travel to permanent and project sites as a FIFO HSE professional for various activities such as inductions, inspections, audits, investigations, training, and awareness sessions.
  • Conduct and assess audits of the HSE Management System to guarantee compliance and continual improvement, ensuring its efficacy and relevance.
  • Support the collection and reporting of data on HSE Management System performance.
  • Advise, influence, and guide workers on Health, Safety, Wellness, and Injury Management responsibilities to enhance the efficiency of their roles.
  • Implement or assist with implementing control measures to address HSE risks and oversee the monitoring and review of these measures for effectiveness.
  • Facilitate the dissemination of essential HSE information/lessons learned through communication and consultation across all regional sites.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as an HSE Advisor in a high-risk sector, preferably in rail.
  • Capability to develop HSE competence and safety leadership among managers, employees, and contractors.
  • Ability to influence and drive safe behaviors and performance by establishing effective relationships and fostering engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with multitasking abilities.
  • Resourceful, flexible, and self-motivated.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing role is highly advantageous.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant State and Codes of Practice is crucial.
  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
