This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.

Purpose of the Role:

The Senior Claims Analyst will support the Claims Manager in claims identification, forensic analyses, notification, drafting of the claim statements including pursuing it with the Client (Employer) and following it alongside the legal team through various dispute resolution mechanisms such as DAAB and Arbitration.

Qualifications:

  • White Card
  • Relevant tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or other similar field

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience working on large-scale engineering and construction projects preferably hydroelectric schemes or tunnelling projects in a similar role
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft office suite applications
  • Sound knowledge of construction risks, Contract terms and conditions preferably for EPC/Turnkey Civil Engineering Projects
  • Familiarity with the commercial and legal issues impacting the delivery of projects
  • Experience with negotiation and influencing skills to achieve desired outcomes

  • Exceptional knowledge and ability in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPointCore Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Identify the claims/variations with respect to Contracts and the budget, and notify appropriately to the Employer's Representative
  • Carry out forensic analyses of the claim circumstance based on contract and factual background
  • Coordinate with quantity survey and project controls team to incorporate the cost and time impact of the claim, and draft claim statements for timely submission to the Employer's Representative and its continued follow up
  • Follow up communications and attend meetings alongside the management with the Employer's Representative on the submitted claims for resolution
  • Furnish desired inputs to the legal team for dispute resolution mechanisms such as DAAB and Arbitration for resolution of the Claims.
