Position Purpose:
In this opportunity, the successful applicant will be required to lead, coach, and mentor a team of mine ventilation engineers underground at one of our clients assets.
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of mine ventilation engineers and technicians.Lead design and planning to support underground infrastructure projects.Monitor underground and surface ventilation, maintain equipment and systems to meet requirements.Control the underground ventilation system of the mine site, coinciding with the budgeted targets.Control and monitor all underground ventilation systems to ensure ventilation standards and regulations are achieved.Manage the contractors undertaking the ventilation projects.Conduct environmental hygiene checks and surveys for temperature, gas, dust, air flows, and other contaminants.Complete hazard identification, rectification and reporting in line with site requirements. Our ideal candidate will have the following: Tertiary qualifications in mining, civil or ventilation engineering.At Least five years experience working in an underground mining environment.At least two years experience working in a similar role, mining ventilation or similar discipline.Experience in ventilation design within a mining environment, including commissioning of infrastructure.Experience in Microsoft Office, Ventsim, INX and Deswik suite software experience.
