UniSport Australia (UniSport)

UniSport is the peak governing body of university sport in Australia. We strive to promote and foster the importance of university sport as an integral part of university life at 43 member universities, who collectively represent more than one million students nationwide. Our primary focus is providing expertise and leadership in university sport.

University Basketball League (UBL)

The UBL has been developed by UniSport Australia on behalf of our member universities. It is a national basketball league, which is dedicated to Australian university students. It provides students with opportunities both on (players) and off the court (work integrated learning).

Confederation of Australian Sport (CAS)

The CAS is an independent, not-for-profit industry voice committed to promoting the contribution of community sport and representing the interests of those organisations and peak bodies involved in community-based Sport and Active Recreation.

About the role

In this unique role, the Digital Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the marketing, communications and content strategies across multiple organisations - the Confederation of Australian Sport, and UniSport Australia (with a focus on digital marketing and communications).

The Digital Marketing Coordinator reports to the UniSport Australia Marketing and Communications Manager but will work closely with all organisations and relevant heads of department.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Deliver the annual marketing and communications plans
  • Effective creation and execution of content deliverables, including static and video content to engage the target markets
  • Ensure marketing initiatives for events are delivered in a professional manner
  • Ensure digital marketing and communication initiatives positively support the brand and corporate identity
  • Interacting with target markets via social media monitoring
  • Identification of new ways to reach current and future target markets (in consultation with Marketing and Communications Manager)
  • Undertake any other duties/tasks as required.

Selection Criteria

Key criteria

  1. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective marketing and communications plans with limited budget expenditure
  2. Experience in managing social media channels including content creation (video and static) to achieve audience and engagement growth
  3. Experience in the interpretation of and reporting on digital analytics to draw valuable insights and maximise campaign performance
  4. Understanding of the primary target demographic and the sporting landscape as well as knowledge of recent trends in marketing and communication strategies within these areas.

Essential requirements

  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (or other creative platforms) and use of Canva
  • Experience using website content management systems (i.e. Wix and/or WordPress) to ensure websites are current, optimised and provide a positive user experience
  • Advanced copywriting skills with a strong ability to generate creative and engaging content (both static and video) across a variety of platforms (e.g. website, EDM and social media) for a variety of audiences.

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant disciplines and/or extensive practical experience
  • A working knowledge of the university sporting sector and the Australian sporting environment
  • Holder of a current driver's license and have your own transport.
