Department of Education, Northern Territory Government Darwin New Job type: Full Time, Temporary Apply by: 24 June 2024 Job overview The Deputy Chief Executive works in close partnership with the Chief Executive, providing executive leadership across the Department of Education (the department) and is responsible for the delivery of high quality, finance, property, asset, secretariat, communications, governance and emergency services functions for the department.

This role also ensures the optimisation of service provision and digital direction in conjunction with Northern Territory Government partners to ensure that the department's needs are met.

An Executive contract of up to 4 years may be offered.

About Department of Education, Northern Territory Government Manunda Place, 38 Cavenagh Street, Darwin Teachers in the NT teach some children in 153 government schools spread across 1.35 million square kilometres.

Schools are grouped into six regions: Of the 153 government schools, 73% are located in remote and very remote areas, with 46% of the NT's total student population attending those remote schools.

Some 44% of all our students in the NT speak a language other than English at home.
