Mandatory Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Home and Community Care, Aged Care, Individual Support, Disability, Mental Health (Working towards or willing to obtain)
  • Industry experience in Australia or personal lived experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable Vehicle
  • Comprehensive Car Insurance
  • First Aid certificate
  • CPR certificate
  • Current Working with Children Check for paid roles (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Police check (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Modules (or willing to obtain)
  • A smartphone that has access to the internet and the ability to download rostering app
  • Proof of vaccination

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Where required, assist individuals to undertake a range of activities of daily living, including personal and selfcare, eating, and maintenance of personal hygiene, using the principles of active support.
  • Support individuals to use their preferred method of communication and assist them to be understood, listened to, and responded to at all times.
  • Work effectively with people who have high physical needs and/or behaviors of concern, implementing manual handling assessments and/or behavior support plans as required and in keeping with Top Disability Care Accommodation and Respite procedures and policies.
  • Maintain documentation, records, and data collection as required and in accordance with the relevant legislation and Top Disability Care Accommodation and Respite policies.
  • Interact and communicate with other team members in the interests of service users and of achieving a consistent approach to service provision.
