Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Oversee the implementation of site level environmental operating procedures.
  • Systematically monitor management of environmental permits and compliance within the region to ensure that all operational activities are compliant.
  • Provide guidance and support to regional EHS team to track, manage and report compliance activities and results to environmental company expectations.
  • Support the upskilling, coaching/mentoring of operations management on environmental requirements.
  • Participate in regulatory visits and assist with regulatory reporting where required.
  • Conduct monitoring of environmental emissions where applicable air quality, storm water quality, soil testing.
  • Maintain the environmental dataset (e.g. dust, storm water quality, etc.) and conduct data interpretation to assess compliance with site permits and/or other legislative requirements and report as necessary.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Note: This role will require up to 50% of travel across regional sites._

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in earth sciences, ecology, energy, environmental engineering, environmental health, environmental science or management; or engineering work experience with a sustainability focus.
  • Minimum of 35 years' experience in environmental management including; site, regional and global experience for environmental compliance requirements or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience implementing workplace environmental regulations and standards within Australia and working with authorities involved in workplace EHS oversight.
Previous work experience using ANZECC water/soil quality guidelines

  • Advanced computer database and Microsoft Office software skills.
  • Open Australian driver's licence.

Desirable criteria:

  • Experience in metal or electronics recycling, or related industry.
  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management standard experience.
