About the Role


Based in our Brisbane office, the main objective of this role is to develop, document, coordinate, and communicate Subsurface QLD/NSW field development plans.

Accountabilities are delivered in line with the Santos company values and Santos Management System (SMS).

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading the coordination of lifeoffield development plans (FDPs) for appraisal and development areas within the Roma and Scotia asset areas.
  • Evaluate the economic viability of appraisal and development scenarios, and evaluation work for project assessment including sanction, in conjunction with the economics analysis team.
  • Assist in strategic decision making for assigned areas, including framing scope of future projects and final investment decisions.
  • Build and maintain field development planning models.
  • Consolidate medium and longterm production forecasts for planning, sales forecasts, emissions forecasting and infrastructure modelling.
  • Support delivery of key business processes, such as the Long-Term Plan, Portfolio, Budget, and Reserves.
  • Present development plans to senior management and joint venture partners as required.
  • Effective and timely collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to delivering on cost reduction efficiencies and value creation strategies.
  • Compliance with Santos Corporate Governance and Safety requirements.

About You

We are seeking professionals with:

  • Extensive years of experience in technical or commercial disciplines, including drilling and completions, oil and gas exploration, production, operations and/or development.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proven selfstarter and selfguided, with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with key stakeholders.

Additional desirable experience for this position includes:

  • Experience and understanding of upstream oil and gas operations including the various phases of the well life cycle, with Coal Seam Gas experience advantageous.
  • Experience with Enersight.
  • SQL, R Studio/Python, Visual basic.
  • SharePoint and Microsoft PowerApps power user.


Ideally, you will be degree qualified or demonstrate significant training and experience within a directly relevant role(s), within large corporate environments.
