About Us

Community Solutions Group plays a significant role in enriching people's lives by assisting them in reaching their objectives and collaborating with them on their journey towards opportunities. We provide a wide range of services concentrated on enhancing the employment, education, well-being, and autonomy of individuals, families, and communities in Queensland, Victoria, and New South Wales.

Community Solutions Group is affiliated with Endeavour Foundation, a prominent employer in Australia of individuals with disabilities, where inclusivity and diversity are not just goals, but intrinsic values. Fostering an inclusive and diverse environment is fundamental to our operations and is aligned with our organizational principles and our mission of transforming possibilities into realities.

About the Role

In collaboration with families and support providers, we aid adults with disabilities in minimizing negative behaviors, enhancing well-being, and quality of life. By utilizing positive behavior strategies and cooperation, we empower NDIS participants to attain autonomy, independence, and drive positive changes in their lifestyle.

Under the supervision of our Behaviour Support Practice Lead, you will offer guidance and mentorship to a small team of Behavior Support Practitioners (BSPs) to ensure the delivery of top-notch service to NDIS participants in alignment with their individual NDIS plan. If you hold a degree qualification (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field, then this position might be the right fit for you. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Directing and coaching BSPs while reviewing positive behavior support plans
  • Promoting a team-oriented approach to assessing service delivery
  • Tracking your team's goals and objectives throughout the year and taking part in annual performance evaluations
  • Collaborating closely with the team to achieve output targets while maintaining best practices and fostering excellent stakeholder relationships
  • Establishing partnerships with service providers, community organizations, and government entities to secure the best outcomes for our participants
  • Providing professional guidance and advice to individuals with disabilities, families, staff, and managers on evidence-based approaches to mitigating challenging behaviors

What you will bring to the role

  • Completion of a degree qualification (or higher) in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field - a mandatory requirement
  • Experience in mentoring BSPs or leadership/management roles in the human services sector including disability, healthcare, family support, or a similar field
  • A thorough comprehension of good clinical practices, the regulatory requirements in QLD, and the framework within which Behavior Support is offered
  • Familiarity with modern practices and ideologies concerning service delivery for individuals with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities
  • Experience or knowledge in formulating positive behavior support strategies for individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments
  • Proficient in administration and computer skills, with expertise in MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook

Additional requirements:

  • Legally allowed to work in Australia, such as an Australian/NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Visa holder with work authorization - excludes visas with Temporary Work Rights
  • Possession of a current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) and NDIS Worker's Screening Check, or a willingness to obtain these clearances upon successful application. The cost of these clearances will be reimbursed upon commencement
  • Candidates must meet the criteria to be recognized as a Proficient Practitioner
  • Readiness to undergo a "Fit2Work" Police Check
  • Possession of a current and valid Driver's Licence

Benefits and Perks

  • Salary packaging of up to $15,900 of your annual income tax-free, and an additional $2,650 for meal and entertainment expenditures
  • Utilize your pre-tax income for purchasing a new or used vehicle, saving on both the buying price and upkeep costs
  • Discounts on Corporate Private Health Insurances, Select Kia Vehicles, Solar Packages (only in QLD), and household appliances
  • Supportive Induction and Learning Opportunities
