THE OPPORTUNITY


We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual to join our Class Support Team to support delivery within our Carpentry & Joinery section in the position of General Assistant/Toolstoreperson.

We currently have a permanent part-time part-year opportunity available in Belmont, working 34.5 hours per week, 41 weeks per year.


ABOUT THE ROLE


The General Assistant/Toolstore person is responsible for providing high level customer service to support the effective and efficient delivery of educational programs.

This position may be required to work to a roster and to carry out manual handling activities. This position contributes to the daily operational needs of the section/s. We are seeking people from trades backgrounds ideally carpentry and joinery, or similar.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
  • Demonstrated experience working within a trade environment or related work areas.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of purchasing within a trade environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory and stock control including store layout and maintenance of stores records.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member or with limited supervision.
  • Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.

Highly regarded

  • Experience within a carpentry & joinery trade environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience in receipt, issue and maintenance of trade tools and equipment for relevant area will be highly regarded.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
