We are currently seeking a skilled individual to join our team:



  • Position: Survey Engineer


This full-time, permanent position is based in Australia as a crucial member of our esteemed offshore team.


The Survey Engineer plays a key role in overseeing all engineering activities on-site, ensuring they align with UTEC and the Client's best interests while meeting safety, contractual, and quality standards for each project.

Moreover, the Survey Engineer is tasked with verifying the proper configuration of all equipment brought aboard the vessel, as well as maintaining up-to-date calibrations and certifications.



Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Proficiency in various Survey sensors for a wide range of job operations
  • Understanding sensor pinout and wiring diagrams, equipment interfacing, and sensor integration into the online system
  • Knowledge of basic electronics principles, electronic symbols, and wiring
  • Familiarity with IT, networking solutions, and setting up dedicated survey networks
  • Expertise in data protocols associated with survey sensors (e.g., serial protocols, ethernet, fiber optics)
  • Experience with CCTV, video systems, and video distribution setup on vessels
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and utilize problem-solving skills effectively
  • Proficient in cabling tasks, including termination and setup for various purposes
  • Capability to design vessel wiring diagrams and create setup notes using relevant software
  • Ensure maintenance, servicing, and calibration of equipment utilized in offshore survey tasks


Requirements:


  • College/University degree in Electronics/Engineering is preferred
  • Relevant industry experience or comparable military/academic background in survey-related fields
  • Team player with a positive demeanor and excellent collaboration skills
  • Ability to execute tasks with precision, accuracy, and a high level of efficiency
  • Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within teams
  • Prior exposure to Industry Standard Survey Packages is advantageous
  • Familiarity with AUV is a plus
  • Must possess a valid passport without travel restrictions inhibiting work in countries where the Company operates
