Hastings is currently focused on the delivery of the Yangibana Project located in the Gascoyne and Pilbara regions of Western Australia.
We are seeking a driven Mine Survey Superintendent initially working between the Perth office and the mine site, transitioning to the mine site as construction and mining accelerate in late 2023 early 2024.
The Mine Survey Superintendent reports to the Yangibana Site Manager where your primary role is to set up the base line survey information for the operation and take full responsibility for all survey information from the Construction team.
Additionally, the Survey Superintendent will provide leadership on the site operational readiness plan for mine survey systems and building the Mine Survey Team.
This will include leadership to the Surveying Team in marking out, measuring, monitoring and defining the direction of all surface workings within the mining operations and for the preparation and updating of mine plans.
Job Requirements:
The Role
Liaise with all relevant personnel for their survey requirements on a daily basis.
Lay out and maintain survey reference marks for control of all construction and mining activities
Regular surveys to control all mining activities including ore stockpiles, waste dumps, TSFs, roadways and haulage roads
Provision of accurate survey control network
Survey of and computations for ore and waste volumes and stockpiles.
Compile and update mine plans as necessary
Oversee surface survey requirements
Provide regular and timely reports to the Site/Mine Manager on the progress of work undertaken.
Provide accurate end of month figures to Engineers and Geologists.
Compile accurate monthly records for all surface excavations and ore stockpiles for end of month reports and reconciliations
Ensure compliance with standards stipulated within the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995.
Maintain accurate site plans of surface infrastructure.
Other duties as required by the Mine Manager
About You
- Diploma of Surveying or Bachelor of Applied Science (Surveying).
- Authorised Mine Surveyor's Certificate of Competency
- Grade 1, issued by the WA Department of Mines and Petroleum.
- Prior experience in a startup construction & mining operation
- Current "C" Class Western Australian Drivers Licence
- At least 10 years' experience in mechanised hardrock mining
- Drone pilots license and CASA certification as Chief Drone Pilot
- Demonstrated experience using Surpac
- Strong report writing skills.
- Ability to read and write English at an Australian Upper Secondary School Standard.
