The Role
We're seeking to engage a strategic
Corporate
Manager - Sustainable Futures to join our Clients & Strategy team.

Reporting to the ANZ Manager - Clients & Strategy Implementation, you'll be responsible for advising, creating and implementing industry leading initiatives aligned to SJ and SMEC's strategy and sustainability plan to be THE leader in sustainable solutions to the Australian and New Zealand Infrastructure Sector.


In addition, you'll be responsible for the ongoing development, delivery and review of SMEC ANZ's Sustainability Plan; along with leading the organisation in developing and implementing initiatives to deliver outcomes and actions of SMEC ANZ's Sustainability Policy and Strategy.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -

  • Managing and facilitating the development and delivery of objectives and actions in SMEC ANZ's Strategy and Sustainability Policy;
  • Collaborating with teams across ANZ to design programs and initiatives to improve SMEC's social and environmental performance, manage environmental risk and compliance, fulfil internal and external reporting requirements and engage employees and external stakeholders on environmental issues;
  • Developing employee awareness and promote a culture of commitment to SMEC's sustainability objectives through project involvement, the development of training and educational programs, induction and materials;
  • Supporting operations from strategy development, work winning through to project delivery and completion

About You

Suitable applicants will be/have:

  • Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in sustainability, sustainable development, environmental management, science or business
  • A strong knowledge of the local market;
  • High level written and verbal communication skills;
  • Effective communication and influencing and stakeholder management skills with a passion for sustainability;
  • Ability to develop and convey clear messaging to a variety of different audiences;
  • Strong business acumen;
  • Knowledge of reporting frameworks and standards;
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage concurrent tasks to deadlines and budget;
  • Sound analytical and problemsolving skills;
  • Applies an agile mindset and makes plans in response to changes, risks, and contingencies;
  • Ability to understand the complexity between business practice, client behaviours and best practice sustainability.
