This 12 month traineeship based in
Parkville Youth Justice Precinct provides support to the Rostering and Attendance team to ensure the department can operate in an effective and efficient manner.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be aged between 15 and 29 years at the commencement of the traineeship
  • Not currently engaged in tertiary education
  • Not have attained a university level qualification (excluding 14 certificates)

Position Overview


The Rostering and Attendance Support Officer prepares and maintains the roster in line with backfill, unplanned leave, and no shows, and checks availability and fills shifts for the next day.

Nine day work fortnight with a rotating roster - including some weekends and public holidays. Penalty rates apply._

Key accountabilities

  • Prepare and maintain rosters daily, publishing fortnightly rosters.
  • Conduct daily quality checks, resolve timesheet exceptions, and ensure accurate payroll data.
  • Manage employee data and generate reports in TimeTarget.
  • Maintain confidential records and provide administrative support to management.
  • Perform general administrative tasks including answering phones, data processing, and filing.
  • Provide support to staff on various tasks and projects.
  • Maintain records and correspondence, both manual and electronic.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Undertake additional duties as required.
