About the Position

Innovating Ways to Supply Essential Materials

The Cape Lambert Isolations team at Rio Tinto is searching for a skilled Officer Isolation to join them permanently. This role offers an 8-days-on, 6-days-off residential or FIFO schedule in Cape Lambert.

As an Officer Isolation, you will report to the Supervisor Isolation, contributing within a safety-focused team that prioritizes inclusivity. Your main responsibilities will involve providing isolation plans for fixed plant operations in a collaborative and stimulating workplace.

• Assisting the permit team in reviewing shutdown permits and mapping
• Ensuring compliance of permits throughout the work process
• Verifying clear definition of hazards and controls
• Preparing work permits specific to the scope of tasks
• Coordinating safe equipment isolation with internal stakeholders
• Authorizing Permits and Certificates
• Driving improvements in the permitting & isolation processes

Your Qualifications

• Dedication to team and self-safety
• Self-motivation and reliability
• Experience in hazard identification and management
• Knowledge of isolations, P&IDs, work permit processes, WHS requirements, legislation, and risk assessments
• Ability to collaborate across departments
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Familiarity with integrated management systems and previous exposure to SAP
• Mechanical or Electrical trade Qualification (Electrical Preferred)
