About the role
The VACCA Family Violence Program provides advocacy, referral and support to Aboriginal women and their
children who are experiencing family violence. A range of support options are available that may include short-, medium
- and long-term casework.


As a key member of the Family Violence Team, you will have the opportunity to develop, implement, educate, and streamline the new systems to support the implementation of the Family Violence Flexible Support Packages Portal.

Working in collaboration with the Family Violence Team and Internal and External main Stake Holders/Users to further educate and develop their capacity to utilise the Portal.


About You

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin VACCA' vision and purpose and the capacity to take a leadership role in championing these internally and externally
  • Understanding the issues of family violence and the impact on women, children and families in an Aboriginal context
  • Welldeveloped written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with Aboriginal people
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, sound verbal and written communication skills.
  • A thorough understanding of the issues relating to confidentiality and mandatory reporting provisions.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and the Risk Assessment Frameworks, MARAM
  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, welfare or a related discipline

Requirement:

  • Current COVID19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable),
- a Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain),

  • Police Check, and
- a valid Victorian Drivers Licence.
