About the role


The Aboriginal Family Violence Therapeutic Group Facilitator positions have been created to facilitate a range of group programs with Aboriginal women, adolescents and children who are impacted by or have experienced family violence.


About You

  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal culture and values and the importance of identity, and cultural connections in the healing process for Aboriginal children and families
  • Demonstrated experience in group facilitation
  • A comprehensive understanding of the dynamics and impact of family violence in Aboriginal families and demonstrated awareness of complex intersectionality that impact children and families.
  • Substantial and relevant experience working across Family Violence and Child Protections sectors

Requirements:

  • You must have and continue to hold a full Victorian Driver's Licence
  • A current employment working with children check card
  • National police check
  • Current COVID 19 Vaccinations (Minimum Two Doses and Booster shot as applicable)

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in social work (or equivalent) or willingness to work toward the qualification in line with the mandatory minimum qualifications policy or significant lived experience relevant to the work.
  • Where a degree is commenced but not completed, salary will be fixed at Award Level 4 until successful completion.
