Yancoal Australia is one of Australia's largest pure play coal producers. It boasts three tier one thermal coal mines in New South Wales together with interests in three other metallurgical and thermal coal mines located in New South Wales and Queensland. Yancoal Australia also manages five other Australian coal mines on behalf of related parties. Yancoal currently employs over 4,000 people across its operations. At Yancoal our people are our most valuable asset and we invest in developing our management and leadership talent throughout our operations. Our Ashton Coal Operations include an underground mine and coal handling and preparation plant, located in Camberwell. The site operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Medium to Long-Term planning for a variety of surface and underground projects
- Ventilation and Gas Drainage projects
- Ground and strata remediation projects
- Subsidence remediation projects
- Mine dewatering projects
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (essential)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role at an Underground Coal Mine (essential)
- Experience and competence with Microsoft Project
- Ventilation Officer qualification (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem solving ability
