About the role

  • To supervise the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital, Department of Engineering and Building Services Electricians Workshop staff and Operations and allocate resources with the objective of ensuring the provision of effective and efficient section trade services.
  • Assist other Hospital staff in the fulfilment of their duties.
  • Be responsible for the statutory testing, repair, installation and maintenance of all Electrical trade related plant, equipment, services and facilities.

You will be assessed on your ability and aptitude to demonstrate the following key attributes including skills, knowledge, experience and personal qualities.

Within the context of the 'Key Accountabilities', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Comprehensive experience in and an extensive knowledge of the desired level of trade skills within work environments similar to that found in Health Facility engineering maintenance and installation service organisations
  • Proven ability to supervise trade staff, prioritise works, accomplish project time frames and make responsible recommendations
  • Proven ability to interact and communicate effectively both verbal and in writing with staff from all levels of various organisations
  • Proven ability to coordinate staff into an efficient working team
  • Proven ability to produce an effective work output in terms of both quality and quantity without direct supervision
  • Excellent knowledge of or an ability to acquire knowledge of procedures, policies, regulations and standards which impact upon the position, in particular Public Sector Guidelines, and a knowledge of contemporary human resource management issues such as workplace health and safety, equal opportunity and antidiscrimination
  • Excellent knowledge of process technologies including PLC, SCADA, Nursecall and BMS
  • Moderate experience in computer skills including S4Hana, Microsoft products
