Our Journey:


Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.


General Services Manager:


The role of General Services Manager reports directly to the Support Services and CPK Manager, Kingston Centre, Moorabbin Hospital and Residential, and is an essential member of our leadership team in our pursuit to provide an exceptional customer and employee experience within the Support Services team.

To help you achieve our service delivery requirements you will have three direct reports and a team of around 90 employees

A Day in the Life:


The General Services Manager is responsible for the management of our Patient Services Assistants, Environmental Services and Porter teams and mirrors the portfolio of the Support Services Manager.

This is a hands-on role and working with team members at all levels.

The role makes a strong contribution to ensuring our teams are highly engaged and supported to provide high quality, customer focused services for our patients, visitors and staff.


The General Services Manager is accountable for:

  • Budget and employee management and
  • Overall department performance.
In this important role, you will be responsible for:

  • Roster management
  • Training and development of employees
  • Providing leadership the support services team
  • All aspects of human resource management for this workforce
  • Working closely with departmental heads and teams to drive service excellence

  • Experience in a managerial role in a medium to large organisation.
  • Exceptional leadership skills to ensure amazing patient and employee experiences.
  • Imagination, positive attitude and motivational approach in facilitating change and adopting new concepts.
  • Lead by example
with a highly consultative and inclusive leadership style

  • Immediate computer skills
  • Have worked your way up in various roles within the cleaning, healthcare, hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Be experienced in managing teams ensuring they are well supported
  • Be a solutions oriented person with the ability to lead a great team
