The Network and Systems Engineer's role is to work as part of a team to complete tasks linked to the technical delivery of solutions across a variety of industries and business sectors, by providing strong technical support and solutions, and expertise across a wide range of contemporary products and technologies. The role requires working both remotely and on customer sites as required - all in the Melbourne metro area.The key focus of the role is to provide hands on support and consultancy services for the management of medium and high complexity business IT requirements for small, medium and enterprise customers. The role has a strong client service orientation and provides delivery of Storage Area Networks, Virtualisation, Data Management, MS Applications, Networking, Security, Backup, Cloud Computing.The role could be characterised as 50% BAU technical support at L2/L3 and 50% Project including implementations and eployments.Competencies and tasks for this role will include some or all of the following;
  • Provide BAU L2/L3 support as required
  • Deploy Windows Server VMs into DCS & DCN on specified VLANs
  • Promote to Domain Controllers
  • NTP Configuration
  • Apply Windows Server Security Baseline
  • Creation of Base GPO Set catering for security standards, Windows
  • Firewall Configuration, Laps for Servers, Internet Proxy services
  • Install Backup & Monitoring Agents
  • Install Antivirus Agents
  • Create OU Structures. (Operational, Vendor Production & Testing)
  • Create RBAC Controls & Framework.
  • Create Operational Process/Procedures
  • Create User Accounts / Templates
  • Create Groups and Populate Members
  • Functional Testing & QA
  • Develop Test Plan & Supporting Test cases
Experience required;
  • Minimum 5 Years' experience in a MSP Infrastructure Support/ engineering environment.
  • Brilliant communication skills to write reports, business correspondence, and user instructions.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft products including Azure, SCCM, MEM, Intune, Active Directory, SharePoint O365 and Windows Server.
  • Understanding of SQL backup and management systems.
  • Strong understanding of device management
  • Understanding of server hardware and storage related technologies, including: Veeam, RAID, iLO, bare metal restores, backup methodologies.
  • Experience managing a cloud environments.
  • kKnowledge of Virtualization tech (Hyper-V, VMWare, Nutanix).
  • Experience with security platforms / Security knowledge is highly regarded.
  • Ability to respond to Tenders and Write Reports
